Caleb is an amazing host! He treats you like a long time friend! His knowledge is large and he not only shows you what to do, but why you do it and the purpose of it. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of this experience!

Caleb welcomed us even though we were early and had an extra person that was an observer, he was very accommodating to that fact. Everything was set up and ready to go when we arrived. He was calm, knowledgeable, & patient with ample guidance to make a knife we could be proud of plus show off to others!

We definitely had a great time . The experience made memories that will last a lifetime and the cost is well worth it . Caleb is very knowledgeable about his trade and we will surely recommend doing it if you are in the area.

I wanted to make my dad a knife for Father’s Day. Now I am gifting him a cool keepsake that is handmade!! Additionally, the process gave me a new respect for steel and of course my kitchen knives. Caleb is an excellent and patient teacher. His enthusiasm is contagious and his talent is to be admired!!! Highly recommend this experience. Do not miss it!

This was a super fun activity. Caleb was a great instructor! You get to do most of the work and he was great at helping out if you needed a hand. Plus I now have a super cool knife.

What an amazing time! Caleb is a fantastic and patient teacher! Nobody need be nervous because Caleb carefully walks you through the entire process and is right there to help you if you need it. My partner and best friend and I had such a cool experience making knives with Caleb! We got to make beautiful kitchen knives out of railroad ties - with our hands!!! None of us had ever done any metal working or anything like that, and Caleb was such an encouraging facilitator of the process. He was informative, patient, and we loved hearing about how he taught himself this craft. The location is spectacular and this was a perfect hands-on small group afternoon experience (also dog friendly!).

So My Wife Booked This Activity For Our Anniversary And I Must Say This Was Just An All Around Amazing Time…Couldn’t Ask For Better Experience, Caleb Is Great Teacher And An Overall Fun Guy To Be Around I Will Remember This Experience For The Rest Of My Life

This was one of the best experiences of our life. I booked this for my husband's birthday and he was in awe. Caleb was an amazing instructor and just a cool individual. Very great hands on experience and would do this again in the future.

Had a great time with Caleb this morning! Enjoyed learning a new skill and working through the process. The whole thing was even more fun than I expected! If you’re thinking about trying this, go for it!

10/10 recommend this experience- it was worth every penny! Caleb was very welcoming, and put my inexperienced self at ease alongside my more hand-skilled partner. Left knowing a lot more about blacksmithing and with two awesome knives that live to tell the tale! If we are ever in the area again, we’d love to make something else in this shop 😁

Such a unique experience! Caleb has an amazing and cozy workshop with incredible tools! He’s the best teacher and very hands on! Caleb is extremely patient and knowledgeable in his field and allows everyone to work at their own pace. I can’t wait to tell all my friends back home to take a trip up to Young Harris for knifemaking at Ledford Works!

My husband loved this so much! Caleb was great and was very hands off. He let us do everything! He showed us what to do and helped if needed, but for 99.9% of it we did everything!

Fantastic experience. Caleb was personable and allows you to make decisions on the style of knife you create. Fun to learn how to use tools to work with the metal. Already talking to my husband on when we can make another trip to visit Caleb again.

Caleb was a great host and even worked with us on some scheduling conflicts we had. We enjoyed every minute of it.. even got to meet some family and just had an all around wonderful time. What an amazing experience! I booked this as a surprise for my husband as we vacationed in Blue Ridge for a belated celebration of his 50th birthday. He watched every episode of Forged in Fire and I couldn’t believe we could actually take a class and learn a bit about this extraordinary skill. The experience is located on a stunning family farm and Caleb’s shop is really exceptional (thanks Caleb, now Michael wants a whole refinished shop!). A truly gifted young man, Caleb takes the time to explain and show the skills yet allow each participant to work through any difficulties (as a 24 year educator - BRAVO!) He is such a personable teacher and I would recommend this experience 100 times over. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity in the most personal of settings. We were happy to meet both of Caleb’s parents who must be extremely proud of his positive go-get-em focus and how he has honed this skill so incredibly. This was a special moment to learn together for me and my husband and we will cherish this memory forever. He is going to have our knives mounted to hang in our kitchen. PS- I also think if Caleb had an itch to travel and share this experience- he could create a smaller “travel shop” and I’m guessing he would hardly get to sit still!

Overall, the experience was better than expected. Caleb did an amazing job teaching us how to knifesmith and understanding the process. His laid back teaching style made it a very comfortable environment to learn and have fun.

My morning forging my first knife with Caleb was great! He was very good at walking me through the process and answering all of questions about blacksmithing and knife making. I would highly recommend this experience to others interested in this type of metal work.
